Idleness is the first album by guitarist Daniel Casares as a leader. The album delivers an unclassifiable blend of genres, away from traditional jazz territory.

Daniel spent most of his training years and professional career as an improviser in the jazz tradition. Recently he has found his way back to producing (a passion of his teenage years), and Idleness is the result of his first year back at the craft. Most tracks on the album are instrumental, featuring guitar and keyboard leads over rich harmonic palettes. The album is a deeply personal outing where Daniel's jazz background is complemented with influences from a diverse pool of styles, creating sounds that are both catchy and boundary-pushing.

Daniel Casares is a jazz guitarist, composer, and producer from A Coruña, Spain. He graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2018 and completed a master's degree at SOAS University of London in 2022. Daniel released the EP "Villa Bonita" in September 2022 on HOUT Records.
