Saxophonist Jackson Harvey returns with an EP containing 4 avant-garde jazz tracks. The sax-bass-drums setting finds the group developing intense and emotional performances over loose compositions.

Jackson has been finding much inspiration in Elvin Jones' piano-less bands from 1968 onwards, as well as free and alternative jazz. The artist put together his steady trio of Linda Wilkins on bass and Daniel on drums and set up a recording session attempting to capture a fierce style that he envisioned. Loose compositions are host to probing, flowing improvisations by Harvey over intense rhythm section playing. Linda utilizes a fuzzed up sound on most of the EP, pushing the record towards psychedelia with a punk flavor. Trio is the most chaotic outing by Jackson, positioning him closer to the avant-garde.
