Jackson Harvey is a young American musician and ethnomusicologist currently based in rural Galicia. At age 22 he is pursuing a master's degree and conducting fieldwork in Europe, researching jazz and avant-garde musical creation in remote regions. Harvey met Daniel a few months ago, which led to the creation of the Anceis Jazz Unit alongside guitarist Emma Sjue.

On Outlands Jackson teams up with Daniel again to deliver an intriguing work. The EP packs 7 instrumental tracks composed by the saxophonist and produced by Daniel, which travel from psychedelic feel-good beats to abstract free jazz. Artists such as Soft Machine, Madlib, or Ornette Coleman inspired much of the outing, while Jackson also explores softer sonorities closer to lo-fi hip hop and pop.
